Loyal Grand Theft Auto 5 fans have been waiting since the holidays for an update on the release date, as the game was initially supposed to be released last November. However, fans were disappointed to find out that the release has been delayed until an unknown date. But today, Rockstar has announced that the official Grand Theft Auto 5 release date is September 17, 2003. Rockstar made the following statement as well:
We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time
Rockstar also apologized to its fans for the long wait,
To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.
What do you think about the news? Are you happy to just finally have an official release date, or angry that it’s taking so long to develop the game?
